The idea for Ovrtime came while studying at Nottingham Trent University. As a student, covering rent, tuition fees and the realities of young adult life while keeping up with lectures, coursework and everything else university demands felt impossible to balance. Flexible work was the obvious answer, but the process of finding it was broken at every step. Rigid hours, minimum commitments and no real control over your own time. There had to be a better way.

Businesses were struggling too. The traditional staffing model offered little visibility into who they were getting, reliability was inconsistent and the whole process was slow and built for a different era. Both sides deserved something better.

Ovrtime is the platform we wished existed. Students have full control over when they work, what they earn and where they go. Their reputation travels with them across every venue and businesses get access to a pool of verified, rated people they can trust, with a shift posted in under two minutes. No middlemen, no outdated processes, no compromise.

We are not building another version of what already exists. We are here to challenge the status quo and break away from systems that no longer serve people. We are building a future where work fits around life, not the other way around. And we are just getting started.
